Godavari River

The Godavari River is an important river in India flowing from western to southern India. It is the largest river in peninsular India and has been dubbed as the Dakshina Ganga.
Location and Extent
Rising in the Western Ghats near Nashik, it lies between 73°24’ to 83°4’ E longitudes and 16°19’ to 22°34’ N latitudes. It accounts for nearly 9.5% of the total geographical area of India.
